This time at TOAE I will showcase new sculpted pieces, inspired by earlier paintings & illustrations. Some of my favourite scenes and characters come to life in three dimensional worlds, all neatly contained within shadow boxes. Moments, thoughts, zephyrs & secret places are frozen in time capturing themes of love, friendship and solitude. Blog entries & sneak peeks still to come before the show…Tuesday, June 28, 2011

GO JAPAN! PREVIEW II

As promised, here's another sneak peak at what to expect at Go Japan! tomorrow evening. I created five characters inspired by Japanese culture + art + fashion. I then picked tiny parts from the three Katazome-Shi printed papers which inspired me the most, and created small worlds for the characters to live in. The original paintings of the characters as well as prints of their moments in the beautiful scenes will be for sale at the show. Here are two characters & their worlds.
